About Us
Bridges to Common Ground, an educational non-profit, was formed in 2005 as the International Peace Organization. It operates under the name Bridges to Common Ground and is governed by an unpaid Board of Directors.
International Peace Organization is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and as such donations to Bridges To Common Ground are tax deductible.
Our mission is to build bridges of brotherhood and friendship among people of different faith traditions. We support and work toward peace and reconciliation for war victims, the poor, the weak and the meek. We implement and support programs that help people of all faiths find and share a common ground, which we believe will ultimately lead to an end to violence and prosperity for all.
No one is asked to change their beliefs. Rather, we focus on education and revelation that leads to the understanding that we are not as different as we may think we are.
There is a very large and dangerous gap between Muslims and the West. This Divide is perhaps one of the greatest challenges to peace and human progress in the 21st Century. This Divide is expressing itself in acts of war and terror and growing mistrust and fear. It also expresses itself in "Islamaphobia", when Muslim owned businesses in the west are denied equal business opportunities and where schools for Muslim children are considered a threat to the neighborhood.
Similarly, mistrust and misunderstanding of the West by Muslims needs to be addressed. There is little understanding by Muslims of the large body of people in the West who believe in the One God. It is this enormous gap between the East and the West that needs addressing.
People of good will on both sides of the Divide need to come together on "common ground" found in the Qur'an and the original Aramaic Injil.
While there is much unease by thoughtful leaders about the drift toward escalating conflict between Muslims and the West, there are remarkably few operational strategies put forward on which one could act.
What you will see represented on this web site are proven tools that have been used successfully around the world. For real life "proof of concept", please read Congressman Mark Siljanders book "A Deadly Understanding" (Harpers).
